The Company

Portland Marine Electronics was established in October 2006 and has grown into one of the leaders in the marine electronic industry. PME is certified by NMEA and a member of ABYC. PME is located in Clackamas, Oregon with a 7,0000 square foot store and service bay. PME has a total of 9 employees with 4 certified master installers.

Todd Carver is the President and founder of Portland Marine. Todd’s success comes from his passion for fishing. Having been in the marine industry for over 10 years and being an avid fisherman his whole life, starting PME was a natural transition of turning something he loved into a business.

The Goal

PME has one simple goal that is very clear throughout everything they do. Their goal is to educate the customer in making the right choices in selecting marine products. With hundreds of products currently on the market, it can be overwhelming at times and sometimes costly if the wrong products have been purchased. At PME educating customers does not just start and end in the showroom, but is a never ending process. Through product training and on the water training you can use all the features of your boats electronics to create a better experience for you on the water.

Products

What separates PME from the rest of the competition is selling only the industry leading products. We classify each product into three price ranges: Introductory, Mid-Range and High End and explain why we have chosen the products in each category. Every product that we sell is tested and reviewed by our technical team to ensure it meets the demands for PME customers.

Services

There is something to be said when PME installs over 200 units of the TR-1 Autopilots a year. PME services are industry leading. When it comes to installations, upgrading a system, repairs and training PME has the experience and technology to have your boat in perfect operations for when you hit the water. Educating the consumer is so important when it comes to their new equipment, and there’s nothing worse when you’re on the water and don’t know how to use your new equipment.
